Book Description

Life gets dangerous. And very, very hot.

June Cooper is top of her class at the Institute for Modern Sorcery. She’s smart, structured, and a spell-crafting prodigy with the panic attacks to prove it. Her future depends on passing her Certification Exam and keeping her record spotless.

But there’s a problem.

In secret, her power is failing. The Institute is watching. And one magical mistake is all it would take for her life to unravel.

June desperately needs answers—and makes the worst kind of deal to get them.

Rhain Valien is a former Fae warlord with sin in his voice and ruin in his gaze. His reputation is scandalous. His methods are brazen. But he has a rare gift: he can see magic in its raw, true form.

Exposed within his power, nothing stays hidden—not even the things she’s been too afraid to name.

But nothing prepares her for the moment he commands: Take off your clothes. Get on your knees. Unleash your magic.

For fans of Carissa Broadbent, Scarlett St. Clair, and Jennifer Armentrout, Wicked Fae, Cursed Magic delivers enemies-to-lovers heat, forbidden power plays, a morally gray Fae warlord, and magical academia with spice.

One magical meltdown. One depraved agreement. One wicked Fae she should never have asked for help.

My Review

This book played on my emotions. At first, I wasn’t sure I could handle the character June. I felt like slapping her in the beginning, but as the plot continued, she grew on me. I also saw some of myself in her character, so maybe that’s why. She did do some growing in this story. She still has growing to do, and hopefully, in the next book, she will do just that.

With that being said, I could not put this book down. I mean, who doesn’t like a big, broody, powerful male fae? Rhain does all he can to help June grow, to put away her rules and add more chaos to her life.

If you like a book that is sassy and full of spice, this one is it. I’ll be waiting patiently for the next book. I received an advance review copy at no cost, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
