No, Devil’s Halo Isn’t About the Devil (I Promise!)
If you’ve stumbled across my upcoming debut novel, Devil’s Halo, you may have asked yourself one very important question:
“Wait…is this book about the devil?”
The short answer?
Absolutely not.
The longer answer is a little more interesting.
At its heart, Devil’s Halo is a rock romance.
The story follows Rayne Bennett, a young woman who accepts a job with one of the biggest rock bands in the country to help support her family back home. What she doesn’t expect is to cross paths with Jaxx Sterling, the band’s brooding lead singer, a man who has spent years keeping the world at arm’s length.
Neither of them is looking for love.
Neither of them believes in happy endings.
But sometimes hope finds us anyway.
Where Devil’s Halo Really Came From
The title Devil’s Halo didn’t begin as a book title at all.
It began as a poem.
Years ago, during a difficult season of my life, writing became a refuge and a way to process experiences that were hard to put into words. One particular poem explored the idea of carrying both darkness and light at the same time, of surviving life’s storms while still holding onto hope.
That poem eventually evolved into a song, but the phrase Devil’s Halo stayed with me.
To me, it represents the complicated nature of being human. None of us are entirely broken, and none of us are entirely perfect. We carry our scars, our fears, our regrets, and our dreams all at once. Sometimes the very things we survive become the foundation for the stories we tell and the people we become.
When I began writing my first novel, I realized that the title belonged to this story.
At its heart, Devil’s Halo is about imperfect people finding connection, healing, and hope in unexpected places. It explores the walls we build around ourselves, the wounds we carry, and the courage it takes to let someone truly see us.
Building a World Beyond One Story
The world of Devil’s Halo began as a simple idea, but it quickly grew into something much larger. The band members developed their own personalities, stories, and relationships until they felt like real people living in their own universe.
What started as one book is slowly growing into an entire world filled with music, friendship, heartbreak, healing, and second chances. Each member of Devil’s Halo has their own story to tell, and I can’t wait for readers to meet them all.
Music and storytelling have always gone hand in hand for me, and Devil’s Halo is where those two passions finally collided.
So no, Devil’s Halo isn’t about the devil.
It’s about resilience.
It’s about hope.
It’s about finding light in dark places.
And it’s about discovering that even the most broken hearts can learn to trust, love, and heal again.
I can’t wait to share this journey with all of you.
Welcome to the noise.
